With so many eye-catching commercial advertisements of the newer and newer designer fragrances flashing up on the television screens and the fashion magazines everyday, it is really turning out to be a matter of utmost confusion to select the apt fragrance. This tends to make the selection of the right perfumes tougher for the general mass.

There may arise a wide range of confusions while shopping for the perfumes. The media enticing the general flock regarding the new names and the new fragrances in the market is perhaps one of the most significant points of dilemma that have often lead to wrong selection of fragrances and perfumes. The world market of perfumes is highly competitive with large numbers of buyers and innumerable manufacturers and sellers. It is, hence, important for the manufacturers or the designers to create new formulae and present before the world. Such continual creations of newer and newer names and fragrances by the thousands of designers bewilder the minds of zillions of end users and the story ends up with wrong selection.

The next pivotal point of confusion in this regard is the different types of fragrances. With the lack of knowledge regarding the few basic categories and the families of the fragrances you are bound to turn out to be an utter flop while purchasing a perfume for yourself. Any renowned dealer or perfume specialty store usually comes up with a wide assortment of perfumes from varied brands, all with ecstatic smells. This may ultimately lead to the mere wastage of time with wrong selection of perfume.

Price range is another very significant issue that creates awfully great range of confusion. When it comes to the price ranges for the designer fragrances, it often seems that the perfume designers hardly think about the price control policies while formulating and coding the prices. It is due to the high rates of some of the renowned brands that the cheaper perfume designers have started to crop up hither and thither. This again runs a long way to confuse the millions of innocent consumers.

Personal preferences for brands are another very significant issue that cause a great deal of confusion while planning to purchase perfumes. In any case, if a particular brand remains out of the market then it may put you to the zone of total confusion. Different brands develop different base notes that are unique. If the ecstatic Henri d’Orleans remains out of the market for some time, the huge aficionados of the brand would find it to be tough to pick an apt fragrance out from the wide assortment of Badgley Mischka or Sonia Rykiel.

Shopping for the right perfume and fragrance sometimes proves to be the toughest job, as you will be assaulted by an amazingly great range of exotic fragrances from the huge assortment of awe-inspiring perfumes. This usually tends to create a total confusion and the story sometimes ends up by picking the wrong perfume out from the huge stock.

The question is how would you choose the best perfume with the right fragrance that may suit your lifestyle? The general flock thinks that it is not so hard to select the right perfume with the right fragrance. True that it is easy, but easy for those who have skillfully mastered the art of choosing the right perfume and fragrance. While selecting a perfume there are certain considerations to be taken into account with utmost seriousness.

Firstly, set a specific budget for purchasing your perfumes. While doing so, keep this in the forefront of your mind that good, original and branded products never come within the low price range. If you are on some tight budget, then it would be wise to opt perfumes at the discounted rates. You will be amazed to know that there are loads of cosmetics stores and online business centers that have come up with the quality range of products from renowned brands at discounted rates. Internet may be one of the wondrous resorts to order for the awe-inspiring perfumes such as Elizabeth Arden, Bulgari, Vera Wang EDP and Narciso Rodriguex at the rates ranging between £8.00 and £28.00.

Secondly, it is important to identify the types of fragrances that you have never liked. This will make your search easier by narrowing down the issue.

Thirdly, it is important to understand the fragrance families. Renowned brands have classified fragrances into few distinctive families. This includes Ambers, Aldehydic, Chypre, Citrus, Floral, Foug Re, Leather, Woody and so on. This will further narrow down your search, thereby making it easy for you to select the right fragrance and perfume.

Fourthly, you should you should be able to understand as to which one of these fragrance families complements best with your lifestyle. Fragrances tend to have distinctive notes. If you are planning to buy a perfumes to be used while going to the parties and occasions it may not be the right one to be used while setting out for your business place or offices.

Hence choosing the right fragrance and perfumes involves a lot of steps to be followed. It may turn out to be awfully disastrous for you to step into a store and pick the one that allures you the most, pay a wrong price and return back foolishly to the pavilion.

Understanding the various varieties of perfume can help to cut through the difficulty in selecting a fragrance. With so many variances within each category, choosing exactly the right aroma for your body or anyone else’s for that matter, is no easy task.

The most popular based on sales is the floral category. Floral scents are typically a varying concoction of flower aromas blended together for a unique scent. Jasmine, gardenia, and rose bases are the most popular of the popular, often for their unique blending style and their ability to match most body chemistries. Floral scents can vary from very strong to very mild.

One of the more musky yet strong aromas falls in the leather category. Leather fragrances have almost an animal like smokiness to them that is suitable for men and some women, although it is not recommended to purchase leather fragrances as a gift for women since it matches very few female pheromones. The leather scents are reminiscent of the aroma that tanning animal hides gives off. While it is not a fragrance for everyone, those for whom it works for creates a very original scent that can be very attractive.

The woody fragrances are somewhat similar to the leathers, but with a more outdoor smell. With a scent that very closely matches that of the smell of burning wood, Sandalwood is the most popular of the woody fragrances. Sandalwood is popular for perfumes as well as fragrance oils and even incense.

The citrus family of perfumes is, as expected, a fruity scent derived from natural fruit oils. Pomello and lemon and orange and even grapefruit are among the most popular bases for citrus perfumes. Typically younger individuals prefer the citrus based over most other fragrances.

Fougere is a French fragrance that has gained huge popularity in the United States. Literally translated it means “fern,” and has an interested fragrance blend of musty moss-like aroma with herbs such as lavender. Men have a particular fondness for this perfume for its subtle blended scent.

Chypre is another popular blend, typically a soft aroma of outdoor woody-leather scents mixed with citrus aromas. These blends are typically easy to spot when shopping as they are almost always encased in leather as a protective covering. The mixing of fragrances has shifted toward the fruity or “green” scents and leaves behind a gentle musk.

The Oriental aromas are more balsamic with a hint of oak moss, animal scents, or vanilla which creates a noticeable lingering in the air. Obsession is a very popular brand of an Oriental based perfume. Oriental perfumes are considered quite full if not even “heavy.”

Choosing the right perfume can never be an easy task. There are a lot of factors to consider. But it can be rewarding and a lot of fun, too. Your fragrance reveals a lot about your personality, or what you want it to be. Remember also that certain ingredients in perfumes affect or arouse different kinds of emotions and feelings in people. For instance, spicy scents like musk are believed to be aphrodisiacs, while fruity scents are calming, fresh, yet sensual. You must be able to choose the right kind of perfume that will fit your style and your purposes, as well.

The first thing to consider when selecting perfume is that you must not get influenced by what perfume advertisements are telling you. It’s a big mistake to buy perfumes without trying them out first. Never trust a perfume’s description in a magazine or on TV. You have to try out and smell the scents yourself, to make sure that you’re getting the right kind of perfume that suits you and your personality. When testing new scents, think about how you would describe them. If you try out a perfume and you think the words “sexy”, “fresh”, or “fun”, then these are the messages that you’d be sending to people as well.

Try to think about what kinds of scents or smells you really like or are attracted to. Research can be a very valuable tool. Lots of perfumes, especially those that are coming out nowadays, are based on the scent of vanilla. Do you like the aroma of a cake being cake? Or perhaps you prefer the scent of the ocean? If so, oceanic fragrances will work well for you. You may think that you wouldn’t want to smell like tea leaves or apples, but these preferences can be clues to what scent is right for you. Another important thing: never assume that just because your friend’s perfume smells heavenly, it will also smell the same with you.

Consider also the season. During the summer, fresh, fruity, and floral fragrances work best and are suited for the season. Spicier and warmer cents are more appropriate for the colder months. Some experts say this also goes for your location; if you’re living in tropical climates, for example, wearing fruity and fresh scents would generally be the best choice.

Age must also be a factor when choosing perfumes. Not all perfumes are suited for all occasions and age groups. An oriental perfume may come off as too sophisticated for a teenager, for example. These fragrances can have strong scents, and are mostly suited for intimate, special occasions. Green perfumes, on the other hand, are light, refreshing, and are more appropriate for teenage girls.

But how do you test perfumes? Refuse those little cardboard pieces that some salespeople may offer you, and instead try it out on your skin. Spray it on your wrist where the skin is warm, so that it will diffuse the scent quicker. Don’t rub it into your skin. But don’t sniff the perfume immediately after you spray it on, either. Wait for several seconds or even for a minute. Sniffing the perfume as soon as you put it on your skin will just overwhelm your senses with the alcohol. You can try on two perfumes, though, but spray either one on each wrist. And don’t try out more than two; your nose will get confused and you’ll go out of the store smelling like a perfume factory.

One more interesting thing you might want to remember. Once you apply a scent, wait for about half an hour. If you can’t smell anything by that time, but other people can, then that scent is meant for you!

By Taisha Grant
Finding the right fragrance for someone can be a difficult challenge. Not only does everyone have different tastes and styles, but body chemistry plays a critical role in what fragrances serve people well. Depending on body chemistry, a sweet fragrance may become overpoweringly sweet.

It’s helpful if you’ve spent some time around the individual while they were wearing fragrances of their choice. It can at the very least guide you with what type of fragrance is more appropriate for them.

If there’s any tactful method of finding out the woman in question’s preferred perfume, the individual behind the counter can help you pick out a comparable fragrance. If there isn’t a tactful (and by tactful I mean not rummaging through her medicine cabinet) the process becomes a little ore difficult,

Inexpensive fragrances tend to run much sweeter especially when applied, with the few exceptions of targeted fragrances such as Curve or any fragrance targeted at the younger crowds. The younger generations of fragrances are explicitly designed for youthful chemistries with youthful pocketbooks. These perfumes will be higher quality but better at maintaining their integrity once sprayed.

When purchasing a perfume for a woman over the age of thirty it is prudent to notice what types of scents they prefer. Often just by noticing whether their hair carries a lingering fruity scent or if they burn fruity candles in their home you can determine that they prefer a more fruity or sweet fragrance. Thos who burn cleaner candles or who have a cleaner smell lingering in their hair are likely to prefer a muskier scent.

With so many varieties and aromas to choose from, trying to pick out the right perfume can lead to frustration and an overworked nose that can no longer distinguish between the smell of apples and the smell of aftershave.

Floral perfumes are in fact the most popular fragrance as it is sweet (based on its flower foundation) tapered by a natural subtle musk. Perfume notes are the little selections that explain how the scent changes once it hits the body, as it is typical for an aroma to change from the air to the skin. These can be helpful when purchasing perfume without the body it will be sprayed upon.

When in doubt, and you can afford it, choosing two varying fragrances can be a safer bet. She might not love one of them, but she will more than likely find the other one exactly what she likes. Some women have a wider preference scale, and both will be a big hit. As you learn her preferences you will be able to make stronger selections in time.

With time, perfume which was once the exclusive luxury item of the rich has become a part and parcel of every dressing table. Various brands and labels have come up and today we can well say that a lady is known by the perfume she wears. A Perfume is a blend of some fragrant essential oils with aroma compounds, certain fixatives and a solvent and is used to give a pleasing smell.

There are various sources of making perfumes. The most widely used sources are plants. They are used to derive aromatic compounds and oils. The sources of these compounds may be derived from various parts of a plant. The most commonly used barks are cascarilla and cinnamon. The biggest source of aromatics of a plant are its flowers like the commonly used rose and jasmine, as well as mimosa, osmanthus, tuberose, and certain blossoms like those of citrus trees.

Certain fruits like juniper berry and the much loved vanilla are also employed to give expensive perfumes. Other sources include leaves like lavender, patchouli, violets and rosemary. Apart from this, the animal sources include Ambergris, Honeycomb and musk. Most of the modern perfumes employ synthetic means to produce various combinations of smells. Synthetic smells are usually synthesized from pine resins, petroleum distillates etc.

There are some really interesting facts about the perfume. Women are supposed to have sharper sense of smell than men and it is greatly affected by our lifestyle, our diet and medications. Believe it or not but perfumes can actually produce different reactions from blondes, redheads and brunettes. Perfume vapors tend to rise upwards and when you wear your favorite perfume near your face or behind your ears, then it is sure to rise and disappear before you reach the office or meet your partner. It is believed that oily skin type can retain a perfume smell better.

While trying out new perfumes, do not try out more than three smells at a time as your nose will no longer be able to distinguish between different aromas if you try too much. Wait for at least ten minutes after you test the perfume, to get the accurate smell after its reaction with your skin.

If you have invested in a branded or expensive perfume then obviously you want to make the most out of it. Here are some tips to maintain your perfume and make it last long. Preserve your perfumes properly by keeping it away from heat and by storing them in a cool and shaded place where they are not exposed to light. An opened bottle of perfume can keep its smell as it is for nearly a year but only if it is nearly full, as the occurrence of oxygen in the emptying bottle`s air will react with the perfume elements and try to change its character.

Perfumes should ideally be used all through the day. Even those perfumes that are concentrated will not last you for the whole day. You have to apply and re-apply your perfume after every three to four hours. Nowadays you get a wide variety of perfumes and are almost spoilt for choices. It is recommended to use different perfumes for the morning and night. Generally you should choose a light floral smell for the day and something heavy and dramatic for evenings. You can also choose a perfume depending upon your mood.

Many celebrities endorse various brands of perfume while some have their own brands dedicated to them. For example Ashanti endorses Precious Jewel, Christina Aguilera has Xposed. Naomi Campbell has a perfume named after her i.e. Naomi Campbell and Paris Hilton has perfumes like Paris Hilton, Paris Hilton for Men etc.

Design house Thierry Mugler came up with an excellent gift set perfume in 1992 called Angel perfume. The scent was very refreshing as well as feminine and of course very sensual. Angel perfume ingredients are: vanilla sandalwood, plums, fresh citrus, peaches and a touch of patchouli. The Angel perfume gift set is certainly amongst the better perfumes found on the market today.

Have Compliments Paid To You

As its name implies, Angel perfume is a very heavenly smelling scent that will instantly remind one of angels in heaven and its fragrance is such that it calls for wearing it all through the day. Anyone that gets a whiff of its scent will be sure to pay compliments and most will enquire what this romantic fragrance is called, though not every fragrance suits everyone. Nevertheless, trying out Angel perfume is certainly well worth your time and money, and seeing that its designer Thierry Mugler would like to see women who are not only perfectly clad, but who also smell perfect, this is certainly a wonderful perfume that meets these ends.

In the year 1999, Thierry Mugler came up with five beauty products of great innovation that were sold under the name of Secrets D’Angel and they included sprays for the body, masks for face and hair to ensure that women not only walked in beauty, but also smelt that much more beautiful as well.

Angel perfume is sure to make a wonderful addition to any lady’s beauty makeup and once worn it will leave many pleasurable memories to not only the wearer, but also to those around the wearer. So, if you are into designer perfumes and are looking for something out of the ordinary, then Angel perfume should be your choice as it is also high up on the list of best selling perfumes and its fragrance has a lot to do with its success.

With Angel perfume gift set, you can begin your day in heavenly fragrances that will last through the day and the wearer will feel like she is walking in heaven just like an angel. In fact, Angel perfume is the best as far as patchouli and sandalwood based perfumes is concerned and with this perfume you will be sure to love it more than you will hate it.

Any more doubts about Angel perfume will easily be dispelled when you learn that it was this perfume that toppled Chanel No. 5 from the top most position in France way back in 1998, which only shows the great appeal such a perfume has on consumers.

Cheap perfume shouldn’t be confused with good perfume as discounted perfumes are a very different thing. The notion of cheap perfume is altogether different from a discount fragrance. Cheap perfume is not long lasting but it is affordable. A cheap perfume is one that can be bought at a good price.

If you like to wear the latest perfumes made by designers, celebrities and cosmetic companies, you’ll know that covering yourself in scent can be expensive. Some perfumes can cost hundreds of dollars for an ounce and buying supplementary products can run into high figures. Designer perfume doesn’t always cost an arm and a leg. When you know the right places to shop you can buy expensive perfume cheap.

Find Cheap Perfume By Shopping In The Right Places

When you are ready to buy cheap perfume don’t make your first visit to the department stores. Unless you go to a sale at the department stores you will pay the usual excessive prices for name brand perfumes. Instead of trying the cosmetics counter at the department store, visit a perfume outlet.

Many malls now have quality perfume outlets but if your local mall doesn’t contain one, take a little extra time to drive to an outlet mall and you will be very pleased at how much money you can save. Most perfume outlets sell top quality perfumes cheap. They may not have all the additional products made from your favorite scent, but you can usually find a good saving on most brands of cologne or perfume. Just make sure you are buying the real designer brand and not a knock off or counterfeit. While a counterfeit can smell very much like the perfume you know and love, it generally has a higher alcohol content making the scent wear off sooner and the fragrance to go flat.

There are also special discount stores that sell department store seconds and last year’s fashions. They are great places to find cheap perfume. You can always find a wide selection of designer perfume cheap at these stores. As these perfumes are not usually locked behind cosmetic counters always open the box to ensure that you are buying a full bottle.

Cheap perfume at online auction sites

Online auction sites are good places to find fantastic deals on name brand perfume. Some people sell a perfume cheap that they got as a gift that they don’t enjoy on an auction site. Usually these sellers are just happy to get some money back for the perfume that they don’t want and you can find very expensive fragrances at extremely low prices. It is especially important to find reputable sellers on popular auction sites as they are awash with counterfeit items despite the auction companies best efforts to eradicate them.

You should never have to pay full price for expensive perfume. You can buy the best brands of perfume cheap and enjoy wearing them all the more with the extra cash in your pocket!

By Roberto Sedycias
Natural perfume, also known as botanical perfume, is the name given to any perfume that contains only natural ingredients. This means that the product does not contain artificial ingredients of any kind. The idea behind this product is that it is kinder to the skin and to the environment.

Modern living and political outlooks have paved the way for the natural perfume to become increasingly popular. However, the idea of it has always been around, and until the 1800s when synthetic materials were created, natural perfume was the only option. The synthetics were a breakthrough in modern science, and offered a valuable commodity for perfume makers. It enabled the product to have a longer shelf life and could also create more effects and blends.

Synthetic perfume is still excellent quality, but there is a modern trend for trying to recapture the essence of all things natural; and this includes with perfume. Botanical perfume is created from raw organics and rare aromatics, with natural extraction processes used. The aromatics are obtained through tincturing, enfleurage, infusion and distillation, and then added to a combination of carrier oil and water or a natural alcohol base. These bases are less severe than their synthetic counterparts and so it is less likely to cause an allergic reaction.

Allergies are a common reason why people are turning to botanical perfume. The high levels of pollution have made many people more sensitive and intolerant to many chemicals that would previously have produced no adverse affect. Natural perfume ingredients are in their purest form, and so the absence of chemicals creates less irritants and skin pollutants.

Another reason for the popularity of natural perfume is that it can be used to create a signature blend. In the modern world where mass production is the norm, many people are turning to the unique and rare to recapture a sense of identity. Natural perfume enables this. Firstly, synthetic perfumes are mass produced, and so it is down to the taste of the buyer as to whether they are purchased, whereas natural perfumes can be made bespoke.

These bespoke perfumes are created in relation to the tastes of the buyer, and are available for that buyer only. Many natural perfumeries are opening across the globe, where clients can go in for a whole experience which includes answering questions about tastes to determine a particular classification such as oriental, citrus, marine or floral. Then different base scents are tested, and those liked are then combined to create a signature fragrance, usually stored on a database for future purchases.

The ingredients are also a key factor. Natural perfumes often contain rare aromatics that would be too expensive to use in mass production. Therefore, it can offer a wider variety of fragrances. Another element to consider is the concentration of the blend. Synthetic perfumes have strict concentrations of perfume per alcohol and water base, which must be adhered to. Natural perfumes can step outside of these conventions, and create a strength that suits your requirements. Certain perfume may be based upon aromatherapy and aromacology theories also, to try and help assist with mood and health.

Of course, natural perfume does have its disadvantages also. For instance, the absence of any chemical fixative in the perfume, similar to the preservatives found in food produce, means that it is evanescent or short lasting. The ingredients in botanical perfume may separate also, as they contain no chemicals that bind, but this can be resolved with a gentle shake, so not too much of a problem but worth remembering. Natural perfumes are generally inexpensive and a pleasant change from the norm. Ultimately, however, they need to suit your requirements and needs; so weight the pros and cons and make an informed choice before purchasing.

By Roberto Sedycias
Perfume has been used throughout history for a variety of reasons. Perfume has proved itself to be a valuable commodity in both ancient and modern times, with the modern perfume industry turnover in its billions every year. Perfume is a luxury, rather than a necessity, and yet its popularity grows rather than wavers every year. The reason behind this is the enjoyment that the wearer gains, and this type of enjoyment stems from the recognized and unnoticed benefits that wearing perfume provides.

Firstly, the effect of perfume on our brains is not necessarily recognized though the effects are certainly enjoyed. Each scent, whether natural or synthetic, emits molecules which enter the nasal passages and eventually reach the olfactory epithelium. This part of the nose has a vast amount of receptor neurons which are each covered in hairs called cilia. These cilia trap the scent and send a message to the brain which enables a person to recognize the perfume. The ability to smell immediately has a positive impact. This is important as some research has shown that people without a sense of smell have a less happy life than those who can smell; scents trigger emotions and affect our mood.

As a result of this finding, perfume has become as much a science as it has an accessory. Aromatherapy studies the effects of natural botanical perfume ingredients, usually in the form of oils in their purest state. Its looks at the effects upon mood and general well being, and applies the knowledge by improving the perfume in the environment and offering a variety of aromatherapy services aimed at improving people`s lives. Aromacology applies this same approach to any available scent, from flowers to sand, and the findings are currently assisting perfume manufacturers worldwide.

The ingredients used in perfume may improve your concentration and enhance your mood. There is a long list of scents that are said to trigger this stimulating effect. Perfumes that contain ingredients such as ginger, sandalwood and rose are claimed by aromatherapists and aromacologists alike to have a stimulating effect on brain neurons. The increased stimulation aided by the use of perfume assists in many everyday tasks, from more focused studying to extra stamina and energy, balanced weight loss to an improved immune system.

Another benefit to be gained from wearing perfume is that it can relax your mood. Certain scents have aldehydes which have a calming effect on the brain. The perfume oils which have this effect include eucalyptus and citronella. Other scents can act as a form of sedative, aiding restful sleep, which helps reduce anxiety and tension which in turn creates a wealth of health benefits. The most famous of these perfumes include lavender and bergamot, which have been used for this purpose for centuries and in a variety of countries worldwide.

The benefits of perfume are not just highlighted by scientific study. Many psychologists state that humans begin to store information about scents when only a few months old, and that scents affect reactions to people and events more than any of the other senses at this young age. In fact, our taste in smells remains more or less the same whereas tastes influenced by other senses are extremely changeable. This means that we choose perfumes for a reason, either it triggers a feeling of nostalgia or makes us feel a certain way.

The perfume chosen also has a social relevance; it tells people something about the wearer, and helps cement their identity. Attraction to another person is influenced by invisible scents known as pheromones, and perfume adds to this. Above all, perfume makes the wearer feel fresh, attractive and more confident; and confidence is a definite benefit.
